prayingThere’s a lot going on in the Coffey house this week, most notably with regards to my son.

Around nine o’clock or so this morning, we’ll climb into the truck and drive the dozen or so miles to the nearest hospital, where he will spend the majority of the morning saying goodbye to his tonsils. It’s not a big deal, really. Happens a thousand times a day to a thousand different kids. But as this is one particular time and my particular child…well, I’m sure you understand.

Given the fact that today and the rest of the week will call for some extra Daddy Time, I won’t get much time for writing. Instead, I thought it best to take this week to look back on some of my favorite posts of the last year and a half. And since my son will be front and center in my life today, I thought I’d start the week with something about him.

To read it, feel free to hop on over to katdish’s blog. And once you’re done, feel free to offer up a little prayer for my little guy.

The tonsils may get clipped out of the boy’s body, but the heart that loves a daddy can never be eclipsed.

The prayers you requested for your son this week will be given……..because you asked.
One prayer will be for an abundance of ice cream nearby!
Blessings to Big Coffey and to Little Coffey all week.

I’ll keep him in my prayers. Because even when something is done a million times, when it’s your own child it feels like they are the only one.

AMAZING…never imagined my “Monday” could start off with a HUGE laugh and then, a HUGE embrace from my loving Father in Heaven. I will NEVER forget this post…not the “free credit report dot com part-that is DEFINITELY stuck in my head forever! :) …but the NIGHTANDILOVEYOU part. I may not ever end my evening before slumbering another way. Thank you brother, as always, for taking my faith deeper…and drawing me nearer to my awesome God.
    With joy,
    Cherie

I will say a little prayer for your sweet guy, Billy. I remember the first time my son had to go under anesthesia…so unnerving. And while we knew the same procedure (tubes and adenoids) is done on many children every day, it still was scary. Many blessings to you for your daddy love. Will be thinking of you.

Hey, Billy-boy! It’s always a somewhat scary when a little one goes to the hospital. It’s also a little scary for Mom and Dad! Will be praying little Coffey-boy and Mom and Dad as well!

Ahhh, Billy. I’ve added your sweet boy and his parents to my prayer list for the week. I pray everything goes well.

So glad everything went well this morning. I hope you have plently of ice cream. It’s a shame he’ll have to miss so much school, though. That’s gotta be bumming him out.

Great story – that “song” cracked me up. I prayed for you and your family today. I’ve been there, though not with tonsils yet. Tip from a friend who had her tonsils out as an adult: avoid citrus Popsicles — it stings BAD on raw throats.

    Blessings.

Never had my tonsil’s out, but I’m sure he’ll be okay. You’re a good father for being with him rather than posting on your blog. :)

Hope everything went well for your little guy. Even the most normal procedure is a huge deal when it’s your child.

Popsicles and ice cream….I lived on it for a week after I had my tonsils out. You’re a good dad, Billy. Praying for your son.
